If there’s one thing we love, it’s celebrating the Mavely creators who make our community special. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Hannah Franks, the powerhouse DIY content creator behind Hannah.is.Home. From mastering power tools to building an engaged audience, Hannah’s journey is proof that creativity, passion, and a little bit of Dr Pepper can take you far!
From DIY Newbie to Social Media Success
When Hannah first started her Instagram journey three and a half years ago, she envisioned it as a DIY content hub. “I was learning how to use power tools and social media at the same time,” she shares. While she initially dabbled in content for fun, her account quickly grew, and she realized the potential of turning her passion into something bigger.
Now, Instagram is her primary platform, though she also has a presence on TikTok and Facebook. “I’m really focused on studying content and pushing it the right way,” she explains. And her approach is paying off!
Finding a New Purpose as a DIY Content Creator
Like many creators, Hannah’s journey started at a crossroads. After having her second child, she found herself longing for something that felt like her own.
“I had been so focused on being a mom that I never took care of myself,” she says. “I always loved decorating, but I got away from it. My house wasn’t a space I loved, and I didn’t even want people to come over.”
That feeling pushed her to pick up her tools and start making changes—both to her home and to her mindset. What began as a personal project quickly became something much bigger: a thriving community of followers inspired by her journey.
Monetizing Her Passion with Mavely
Hannah’s introduction to Mavely was a slow burn. “I actually signed up a year ago but never used it,” she admits with a laugh. “There are so many platforms out there, and I felt stretched too thin. But recently, a friend encouraged me to give it another try.”
And once she did? Game. Changer.
“The MyShop feature in the Mavely app has been huge for me,” she says. “I don’t have to hop on my computer or iPad—it’s all right there in the app. Plus, the bonus program gives me a clear goal to work toward every month, which really motivates me.”
Now, she’s seeing real results. One of her biggest hits? A 10-in-1 slow cooker by Drew Barrymore’s Beautiful brand, available at Walmart. “Every time I post it, my link clicks skyrocket,” she shares.
Building Community by Keeping It Real
What’s Hannah’s secret to success? Authenticity.
“I just try to be myself,” she says. And sometimes, that means letting her love for Dr Pepper shine. “I get DMs every day from people sending me Dr Pepper memes, reels, or merch. It’s hilarious!”
It’s a reminder that sometimes, the most relatable things connect the most with an audience—even if they have nothing to do with your niche.
Hannah’s Best Advice for New Creators
Looking back, Hannah has one piece of advice for aspiring influencers: Stay consistent.
“If I had focused on just one platform and stuck with it, I think I’d be even further than I am now,” she says. “Find what works for you, commit to it, and don’t get distracted by all the other shiny objects out there.”
Wise words from someone who has built something truly special.
